Sweden's Eurovision finalist was chosen at the weekend - but for many it was the bespectacled 48-year-old who signed the songs for deaf people who stole the show.
Tommy Krangh's silky dance moves quickly became a huge hit on social media - with millions watching his video on Facebook and YouTube.
His animated sign renditions of the finalists' songs sparked calls for him to star at the Eurovision grand final in Vienna in May.
"My world has been turned upside down," he told The Guardian. "I am thrilled and happy; there has been so much love from the internet."
Mr Krangh, who has had no formal training as a signer, said it took him five weeks of intense training to prepare for Saturday's event, aired by Swedish broadcaster SVT.

Singers from 26 countries took part in the 59th annual Eurovision Song Contest in Copenhagen. An estimated global audience of 180 million was expected to tune in to watch the spectacle.
Ukraine's Mariya Yaremchuk kicked off the show with her song Tick-Tock.
One of NFL's rising stars has quit after one season, citing concerns about head trauma.
Chris Borland, linebacker for the San Francisco 49ers, had emerged as a punishing defender during his rookie season.
But the 24-year-old told ESPN's Outside The Lines that he wanted to leave the sport while his brain was still healthy.
"I just honestly want to do what's best for my health," he said.
"From what I've researched and what I've experienced, I don't think it's worth the risk.
"I feel largely the same, as sharp as I've ever been. For me, it's wanting to be proactive," he added.
Junior Seau took his own life in 2012
"I'm concerned that if you wait till you have symptoms, it's too late."
There is growing debate within the NFL of the risks associated with concussions.
A high incidence of degenerative brain disease in former players led thousands of NFL alumni to press for and win a settlement with the league over future health costs that could end up costing $1bn.
Junior Seau, a 12-time Pro Bowl linebacker with the San Diego Chargers, died after shooting himself in the chest in 2012 at the age of 43.
A study of Seau's brain revealed that he suffered from chronic traumatic encephalopathy, or CTE, a debilitating brain condition caused by repeated jolts to the head that can lead to aggression and dementia.
49ers general manager Trent Baalke said Borland's decision was unexpected, but added: "From speaking with Chris, it was evident that he had put a great deal of thought into this decision.
"He was a consummate professional from day one and a very well-respected member of our team and community."
Israelis have begun voting in an election that the leading opposition candidate has described as a choice between despair and hope.
Voting in Tel Aviv, Isaac Herzog, the Zionist Union leader, was addressing the domestic audience.
But this choice may be even more keenly felt in areas under Israeli occupation, where local people have no say in this election - in the West Bank and Gaza.
The Palestinian leadership has already reacted with anger at Monday's announcement from Benjamin Netanyahu that, if he is re-elected, there will be no Palestinian state - and therefore no end to the occupation of the West Bank and Gaza.
Chief Palestinian negotiator Saeb Erekat said: "Netanyahu essentially is doing everything in his power to bury the possibility of the two-state solution."
Masks of Mr Netanyahu and Mr Herzog on the ground at a rally in Tel Aviv
The sudden statement of what the Palestinians already expected of Mr Netanyahu was timed to shore up his support among Israeli right-wingers, while the left-wing Zionist Union began to pull ahead in the latest polls.
That the Palestinian issue was even mentioned was something of a surprise. Neither the Likud nor the Zionist Union had made much of it during the campaign.
Video:Israeli Elections In 60 Seconds
If Israelis were disappointed with the collapse of the peace process and blamed anyone but the Palestinians they would have been as likely to blame the Zionist Union co-leader Tzipi Livni as Mr Netanyahu - after all she was his chief negotiator.
Mr Herzog is on record as saying he is very much in favour of a two-state solution. That means an independent Palestine established through negotiations.
His predecessors on the left, notably Ehud Olmert and Ehud Barak, offered what many Israelis believed were tolerable but risky concessions in return for long term peace, but the Palestinians rejected the terms.
Now few Israelis believe that yet more talks will yield anything more than hot air.

Russian President Vladimir Putin has appeared in public for the first time since 5 March.
The 62-year-old met Kyrgyz President Almazbek Atambayev at the Constantine Palace, outside St Petersburg, on Monday.
Laughing off speculation that ill health had forced him out of the public eye, Mr Putin said: "It would be boring without the gossip."

Mr Atambayev also vouched for his health, saying Putin "just now drove me around the grounds, he himself sat at the wheel".
The Russian leader was last seen in public when he hosted Italian Prime Minister Matteo Renzi.

Gallery: Vladimir Putin - Man Of Action
Vladimir Putin has earned a reputation as something of an action man. Here in 2013 he is seen shaking hands with a walrus on a visit to the under-construction Primorsky Aquarium.
Seemingly always keen to be seen with members of the animal kingdom, he was also pictured touching a dolphin during his trip to the new attraction on the Russky Island, in the far eastern city of Vladivostok.
Irish prime minister Enda Kenny has responded angrily to remarks made by his Australian counterpart appearing to criticise Ireland's fondness for alcohol.
Tony Abbott released a video message last week to mark St Patrick's Day where he said the 17 March was the "one day where it was good to be green".
The PM, wearing a green tie, then awkwardly joked about sharing a pint of Guinness, "or two, or maybe even three" with emigrants in Australia.
Speaking in Washington DC, Mr Kenny dismissed Mr Abbott's comments: "I've heard the prime minister's comments. He made them. I don't agree with that.
"I think that it is perfectly in order for so many Irish people in Australia to have an enjoyable celebration of St Patrick's Day and St Patrick's week, and to do so in a thoroughly responsible fashion," he said in quotes reported by the Irish Independent.
"There has been a long-term view of a 'stage Irish' perception. I reject that. I think it's really important that we understand that we have a national day that can be celebrated worldwide, St Patrick's Day."
After Mr Abbott's video was released, two St Patrick's Day events decided not to screen the message after critics described it as "patronising".
Australia's defence minister Kevin Andrews also appeared to make a link between the Irish and alcohol by tweeting a photo of himself holding a can of Guinness.
This is not the first time high-profile Irish figures have hit out at reported stereotyping.
Last year the Irish ambassador to Australia attacked a national newspaper for the demeaning way it reported a court case involving an Irish man who, he said, "expressed remorse and shame for his actions".
Noel White said: "The Irish do well in Australia. They work hard. And if nationalities can be characterised, they live life to the full, often with high spirits and good humour, characteristics they share with many others.
"Also, like others, the Irish are not immune to the effect of offensive and insulting language."
South Korea has accused its northern neighbour of a cyberattack on its nuclear power plant operator.
The attacks were allegedly carried out in December and have been described by South Korea's government as a "clear provocation against our security".
In a statement, the Ministry of Unification said: "We condemn North Korea's persistent cyber-terror targeting of our country and the international community."
It also accused Pyongyang of "taking the life and safety of our people as a hostage".
In December hackers published manuals, designs and other information about the South Korean reactors on Twitter, along with personal information about the operating company's employees.
Video:Korea: A Divided Peninsula
The team of South Koreans investigating the incident says the hackers tried to cause a malfunction at the reactors, which supply around 30% of the country's electricity, but failed to break through the control systems.
They said that the hackers stole the data by using multiple internet protocol addresses based in China to send around 6,000 phishing emails to more than 3,500 former and current employees involved in running the 23 reactors.
It added that the codes used in the attacks were similar to those previously used by the North's hackers and were intended to "stir up social unrest and agitation".
Video:Woman Exposes North Korea Horrors
The accusations come at a time of rising tensions in the region, with ongoing US-South Korean military drills branded by North Korea as a rehearsal for invasion.
It is also not the first time Seoul has blamed Pyongyang for cyberattacks on its infrastructure, citing previous examples against government agencies, military institutions, banks, TV broadcasters and media websites.
North Korea also denies last year's cyberattack which damaged the computer network of Hollywood film giant Sony in protest at its controversial movie The Interview.

Video:Spain Names Most Wanted Britons
By Martin Brunt, Crime Correspondent
A killer, a rapist and a suspected child abuser are on a new list of most wanted British fugitives being hunted in Spain.
Police are appealing to thousands of expats and holidaymakers to help track them down and get them extradited to the UK.
The list includes several drug traffickers who are thought to be carrying on their life of crime on the Costas.
Hank Cole, head of international operations at the National Crime Agency (NCA), said: "They are hiding from the UK and Spanish authorities whilst in most cases still committing criminal offences.
"Some of them continue to be a danger to the public.

"However, we still need the support of the public. Be our eyes and ears and tell us if you have any information on the whereabouts of our targets."
Some of the most wanted are already convicted, others are wanted to face trial, but all are the subject of European arrest warrants.
Their identities were revealed in the latest appeal in Operation Captura, a joint initiative by the NCA, Crimestoppers and the Spanish police.

Previous appeals have resulted in the capture and extradition of 65 out of 76 British fugitives.
Inspector Olga Lizana, head of Spain's fugitive unit, said the country was still a favourite bolt-hole for British criminals.
She said: "It's a really easy life, they come here because there is a big British community with its own schools, doctors, supermarkets and everything else.
"You don't even need to know the language, so it's a good place for them to come and hide. But we are catching more and more, so it is not a safe place for them to be."

Video:Support Waning For Netanyahu
Polls have opened in Israel's election as Benjamin Netanyahu fights to remain the country's prime minister.
More than 5.8 million people are eligible to vote up until 8pm GMT in 10,372 polling stations nationwide.
Voters will elect the 120-member parliament, casting ballots for a party list, rather than individual candidates.
After voting closes, it typically takes weeks of negotiations for a governing coalition to be formed.
Isaac Herzog's Zionist Union has been polling slightly ahead of Mr Netanyahu's Likud party - a majority of three or four seats, according to the latest polls, but neither political camp has a clear majority.

Mr Netanyahu is seeking a fourth term in office and has cast the threat to his reign as a foreign-orchestrated bid to install a leader who might agree to Palestinian statehood or nuclear diplomacy with Iran.
In a last-minute appeal to his hardline base, the 65-year-old reiterated that a Palestinian state would not be created on his watch.

Shops and schools have closed in eastern India in an outpouring of anger and shock over the gang-rape of a 75-year-old nun.
Residents in the town of Ranaghat, some 50 miles from Kolkata (Calcutta), were appalled by the sister's "inhuman torture" and have criticised police for failing to find the gang.
Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi said he was "deeply concerned" by the incident, which sparked angry scenes in parliament as politicians demanded to know why the six men had not been caught.
The elderly nun needed surgery after she tried to stop the gang ransacking her Christian missionary school on Saturday.
The robbers tied up the school's security guards and entered the nuns' room. They took their victim to another room when she tried to block their way and raped her.
Video:Suspects Of Nun Gang-Rape On CCTV
A security camera in the staff room captured the faces of four of the six suspects, and police have offered a reward of 100,000 rupees (around £1,000) for information.
Police have detained 10 people for questioning, but no arrests have been made.
Samiran Paul, a spokesman for the local business association in Ranaghat, said: "We have called for the shutdown of businesses and shops in this town to support the nun ... and the immediate arrest of the culprits.
"We can't imagine such inhuman torture on an elderly nun who devoted her life to the service of humanity."
Teacher Sriparna Dutta said schools had been closed for the day because "we are all so shocked".
West Bengal's chief minister Mamata Banerjee faced hundreds of angry protesters when she travelled to visit the nun at a hospital in Ranaghat on Monday.
Video:India Rape Sparks Protests
Superintendent Arnab Ghosh said security has been stepped up "in the town and its outskirts to avert any untoward incident during the shutdown".
Mr Modi's Hindu nationalist government has been criticised for being slow to condemn a series of attacks on Christians, including vandalism of a church in the northern state of Haryana a day after the nun's gang-rape.
"PMO (prime minister's office) has asked for immediate report on facts & action taken regarding the incidents," he tweeted.
He has also faced criticism for remaining silent about a spate of mass "re-conversions" of Christians and Muslims to Hinduism.
Earlier this month, India banned a BBC documentary about the gang-rape and murder of a student in 2012 that sparked international shock and outrage.
Authorities said screening India's Daughter could have caused public disorder, but critics accused the government of being more concerned with the country's reputation.
A United Airlines flight from Washington DC to Denver has returned to Dulles International Airport after a passenger started yelling "Jihad! Jihad!", according to news reports.
An airline spokesman said Flight 1074 returned after take-off on Monday evening as a passenger failed to comply with crew instructions. He did not specify what happened aboard the Boeing 737.
According to the New York Daily News, the man was subdued by fellow passengers. The newspaper cited witnesses saying the man had yelled "jihad" during the disturbance.
Local law enforcement met the aircraft at the gate and detained the passenger.
A video posted on YouTube shows the passenger being subdued and crying, "I'm sorry", as a voice tells him not to move.
He appears to have cuts on his face.
The flight was reportedly carrying 33 passengers and six crew. Airport spokeswoman Kimberly Gibbs said the flight was preparing to take off again for Denver International Airport.
